Blocktober Week 2 "Trick or Treat" - Unreal

This level was apart of my blocktober 2021 month where I made videos every week on a new level design project and this happened to be my second level I worked on during that month. The theme I gave myself was Trick or Treat and I wanted to build a FPS map within Unreal. The idea was having kids run around a neighborhood and throw candy at each other while also having a mechanic run in the background where after several minutes two houses on each side of the map would be selected and highlighted and each player has the opportunity to gather more ammunition from those houses by Trick or Treating though this is risky as other players could sabotouge your teams efforts at getting more ammo and attack as everyone is gathered at one place. In the video below the Orange houses would be highlighted at the same time and the purple would then be next. This gives players a chance to partake in dynamic events during the match wich reward greatly for participating in. You can notice that the viewpoint of the player is of a kid so I sized everything to be a bit bigger than someone at adult size that way the area made you feel like a kid.

Overview of the neighborhood I created for the map. The back alleyway I created so players can duck into cover quickly as there is a ton of empty space through out the map. A few houses are colored differently to mark which houses would be tagged for Trick or Treating. A giant part is in the center of the map as it connects every element and section of the map together. The streets needed to be littered with objects for players to hide behind, this was a great area to place cars, street lights and other blocks of cover. The entire viewpoint of the level is from the perspective of a kid so I made everything bigger to have that scale of being smaller. I also created the candy and the bucket myself.
